Thru an 8" Hole!

Well i decided to go out and brave the rain and water on top of the ice last night and it paid off. I wasn't sure if I was going to go out after getting skunked and a huge soaker the night before.. Heading to the bay not really having a plan on where to fish i pulled into the herchimer boat launch to check out the ice before i decide on where to go. A young couple walk up to me a ask for my help as they had decided to drive down an icy unmaintained road (to go park i guess. lol) and ditched the car in a BIG puddle of water..
At this point my decision on where to fish had been made for me.. I unloaded the quad and went and gave the car a pull out.. I then head out for a fish and just get set up ( well i was still messing around actually) when i take a look down at the flasher and see this huge mark underneath my lure... Oh boy i say to myself, this is the fish I've been looking for all winter.. I grab my pole and start going into my jigging techniques.. oh crap i scared it away!!!! oh no i didn't there she comes up (quickly) Bang! the hog is on.. And its a good one.. oh crap i only have a 8" hole =-O
Well the fish gods must have been rewarding me cause somehow after fighting this thing all by myself for almost 10 min, i managed to get the head turned and up the hole. She was a 12.5 lb 31 inch beauty walleye.. woohooo!!! a PB for me.

Congrats on the fish, well done. Its amazing the size of fish that can be fit through an 8 inch hole. It gets tougher the deeper the ice too.
