Clevise vs Split Ring

Has anybody ever tied using a clevise on a buckshot or aby spoon instead of the ring?
Ive heard that i you put the hook threw the minnow and clip it on the clevise the minnow wont come off when your aggressively jigging.

I saw that on a show where the guy drove the shank of the treble hook through the minnow, so the minnows horizontal when the soon is straight up. It adds some length though, I am planning on trying this set up on a few buckshots next week at the BOQ.

I've seen this recently as well but using the "fastach".

I believe they are made now by a few different companies but I have yet to find some.

I've been doing this for years. Works great. Very seldom lose a minnow.

Canadian tire kingston gardiners rd usually carries the fasteck snaps. They work great.

Just picked up a couple packs of the fastach clips at Gagnon's in Oshawa, if anyone is out this way there is still some left. Size#2 and #5 is all they have. The 5's are pretty big, but #2's look like they'll do the trick. Rated for 50 pounds.

I just add an extra split ring and a si wash hook. Increased hooked fish massively
