Anyone ever try or have any success casting for early spring browns off the beach? Wondering about Wellington area Outlet or Sandbanks

look for the first two or three days in a row with bluebird skies and sun (with a couple degrees warmer than usual temps).

then go to the beach and fish shallow.

the browns will be in tight chasing bait....could be in water 3' or shallower.

browns are not bothered by the sun or bright skies, especially when the water is still ice cold.

We run our planer boards as close to the shore as possible, sometimes we have shorten our lines up not to catch the rocks or the sand.

They're there, never see anyone casting from shore.

The fly Fishers from Belleville used to fish off the shore up Cobourg way, but I don't know if Skevy ever fly fished off the shores up wellington way.

When the water has that teal greeny colour its good use spoons and cranks or spinners
