Wondering if anybody knows some decent spots for crappies fairly close to the Kingston area? Never really fished for them and heard they are wicked to eat. Gotta do something until the Quinte bite picks back up lol

Here is the list from the MNR

http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/stdprodconsume ... 198321.pdf

Make sure to scroll down far enough on the document, in order for the actual list of lakes to appear :P

Not all waters containing crappie are on this list......and there is a white species.....somewhat similar, and sometimes together with black

PS.....if you choose a lake from this list, check the regulations for a winter season!

I take a float tube out on Stoco in the late spring and early fall, and have did fairly well there for crappie....I don't know how hot the action is during the winter.... but they are there.

look for weeds and a lot of structure, best fishing for them is at night.
