Well my plans for the weekend took a turn and I couldnt make it to quinte. But I figured with the winter we were having, that there has to be access to some good steely action in the river mouths. And boy did that pay off. I ended up 3 for 3 with this 12 being the biggest this morning. Allot of fun through the ice!!!! All fish were released, and the red/gold cleo stole the show!!!

again, great stuff.

can't believe the amount of guys who fish for perch when we have silvers at the river mouths.

i don't ice fish BUT i'd drag my butt down to a river mouth to see if I could get a brown through the ice....

out of curiosity how much ice did you have where you were fishing, I dont ice fish much but am interested in hitting up some steely's in the river mouths. would the rivers in cobourg and port hope be the best bets?

Your second choice would be your best bet. :D There was 12"'s of ice where I was and allso a spawn bag has been producing. Allso a small jighead and a minnow works. I had a 20 minute fight on my hands this past weekend. Allot of fun!!!
