Hey guys, so I finally made up for a few days see if I can get some gold.
I got in Belleville around 1 pm Thursday got minnow and hit the ice. Was fishing in about 25 FOW that night with only marking a few perch. So the next morning thought I'd try shallower so I set up in 15FOW, still only marking perch. I was getting a little discouraged, talk to a few guys and sounded like no one was on them. Friday afternoon I decided to go deep 32FOW. To my surprise still no gold, just marking perch and they won't even eat. Now I only got Saturday morning left and got to be on the road by 11am. 3hr drive home I got stuff to do.
So got up and set up on the ice by 630am, fished in 22FOW. Put my buckshot down there and in less then 5min marked a good one, no bite. So reel up grab my other rod down with the rap.few min later 3 marks show up, now it's on, jig 2 of them up to 18 FOW and smashed it, perfect eater 17". 10 min later another perfect eater 20".then it stop was marking them just wouldn't bite. At about 10:15am was thinking of packing it up. I see another good mark so I jig and then I feel the small thump in my line set the hook and it feels better. Pulled out a nice 5lbder. So I had plenty already for the wife and I, so down she went back. I was a happy camper now . Packed up and hit the road.
Gonna try to make it for the last day or 2 of the season. Love quinte!
