Seems ages ago the hand auger was piercing the ice for the first time this season. Nov 29 was a first for me. Who would've ever thought, ice fishing in Nov. Now months later, the hand auger long put away and the extension almost ready to go onto the gas auger, I am left with one thought...When can I launch?
First couple outings were for specks,

Had my best walleye bite on an Ottawa area lake landing 26 and my buddy landing 9 in -42 ( windchill ) weather in 2hrs.

Was able to make it Quinte 6 times this year and each time everybody caught fish. Gold spoons and Perch colored Buck-Shots were hot for us.

Travel and conditions up here have been forever changing this season with the amount of snow and there has been more than a few outings of not reaching my destination on some back lakes that I was at a week before. Those are learning days,....Learning an area better, just shy of were you want to be! My last two outings have been like this. So I get to thinking...I know up here, there is still easily 3-4 weeks left of ice fishing, and I still like ice fishing, but I have to admit I wonder. I'm so ready to launch a boat. I go back in my life a year ago this week.

It didn't help!
