Anyone have much luck getting eyes at night on top water lures? I've always got then during the night slow cranking a stick bait, but heard that they will just as readily grab a top water/subsurface lure if the conditions are in favor of walleye feeding on say frogs for example.

Anyone have luck with this? Any suggestion on a good top water lure to try out for nightime eyes?

Thanks

Howdy Perchslayer. The proper spelling for that wonderful species is Pickerel. My favorite nightime Pickerel lure would be Williams Whitefish.
Good luck. Donn.

Have never tried it on the bay but have caught one on a pop r just before dark on Baptist Lake. Was shocked when I looked into the net.

Pretty sad how this post went from a legit question to a spelling lesson.

I use the walk the dog, frogs and poppers for fall bass, it is an excellent way to fish and really enjoy the action. Have never been hit by a walleye but am interested in catching this way. Not looking for a spot to fish, I know places where there are walleye and bass in the same area. What kind of depth, weed beds and/ or structure should I look for to target the top water walleye. Thanks for any info.
Cheers Rob

Lol the pickerel debate again, what non sense. Im going to set it straight right know, the fish specie known as a "pickerel" is a WALLEYE. "Pickerel" is a knick name associated with this fish.

I think too many people are cooped up inside with this unusually harsh winter we've been having and becoming a little stir crazy..... In due time we'll be on the water complaining about the bugs or how hot it is.
