the town of port hope just does not get it or care!!!
that will be brutal for the fish and the beds, The float your fanny begins at Sylvan Glenn to down town probably a good 7 miles of prime spawning grounds,
Do not get me wrong this event is also huge for the town financially. A great event if you ever get a chance to be a spectator from the Ganaraska Hotel when done your morning fish.

My thoughts exactly...I agree that it is good for the town but there are more important things than money in my books!
The race actually starts in Canton and every year i witness people chasing fish or trying to beat them with a paddle. Spawning beds don't have a chance!
