I'm heading out this weekend for some trout fishing and wondering if the back lakes south of Bancroft and east of Hiway 62 are accessible by 4-wheeler yet? I'm not sure if the trails have melted down enough to ride on or if it is still for snowmobiles only. Otherwise I'll be walking in.

Any information for snow depth on the unplowed roads and trails in that area would be appreciated.

I saw the trail groomer out grading the snowmobile trails today if that helps

Thanks for the info.
I know I can legally drive a 4-wheeler to the back lakes as long as I am going fishing, but I don't like to if I know I will be making deep ruts in the trails. That and I don't like pushing it 5 km's in deep, wet snow. I guess if they are still grooming, that means the snowmobile trails aren't beaten down and melted to the gravel yet like I was hoping.

Anybody been out lately? We are gonna head up to Bancroft this weekend and wondered what the ice is like? Also should we bring the sleds or the quads?
