Food to take while fishing

Hi guys I'm looking for some ideas on what kind of food to take in the boat for the derby lets hear what you bring?

We BBQ all weekend

That said, in years passed,

Beef jerky
Pepperettes
Good sandwiches
Chips
Hot soup in a thermos would be good this year

A little camping BBQ is amazing though. Then it's burgers and sausages and chicken breasts.

I LOVE eating good on opener.

Honestly, a little marine BBQ is a phenomenal investment for the boat. Makes long days on the water so much more enjoyable. Amazing what you can make on a BBQ. We have done cookies, brownies, pancakes, eggs and all the usually stuff.

Other good snack items on the boat are trail mix, a few gummie bears, and jerky.

A couple times a year, I take out KFC chicken. I love it cold.

Banana's - Banana's - Everyone in Quinte takes bananas fishing - You can ask anyone.

For us - we take Montreal Smoked Meat sandwiches with Kosher dills and Ju-Jubes.

Don't Eat!!! Fish dark till dark, get off the water, start a campfire, drink 7-10 beers, then BBQ up some hamburgers and sausages......Go to bed at 10 p.m then back on the water at 6 a.m......

Or..........like mentioned above, pepperettes, jerky, trail mix and chips will go a long way.

Well there is something about the "bananas in the boat" thing as a couple of years ago at Port Clinton Ohio my pro partner ripped me a new one when I brought out a banana to eat after they were all giving it to keep pretty well, I do bring bananas on my boat and have not caught a walleye this year so far so there may be some truth to it

Scott is first class all the way !! Awesome guide and great cook. That grilled marlin and shrimp , scallops looks awesome.

Bananas are best just kept in boat and periodically rubbed on your lures or your hands , never eaten. !!!
Today on the boat I had wild turkey sandwiches , venison peperettes , homemade smoked chicken drumsticks . But I forgot the bananas , and for 4 hours of trolling for browns we only managed one fish , need more bananas more bananas......!!!

That's just deep fries fish. I like to keep the pieces small so they are crispy and are bite size in the taco.

I like mango salsa which I do a little different all the time but, thinly sliced mango, chopped cilantro, thinly sliced red pepper, sliced jalapeño to taste, little bit of olive oil and fresh squeezed lime juice to taste.

The white sauce on there was new to me but was a really nice touch and is now a staple for me That came from Big Mac and he will correct me if I'm wrong but is slightly watered down sour cream to make it runny and I like to add a little lime to it. Big Mac nailed this one last opener and they were amazing.

Oh and another Big Mac touch. Make sure you get corn/maize tortillas. They have a different flavour and texture then wheat ones and go really nice with fish tacos.

Mmmm mmm I'm hungry now. Lol
