I finally have a really good fishing report (I don't do many reports!).

We started the weekend with a full day on Lake O searching for Brown's but with two boats and four guys we had no luck. Sunday we moved over to Perfect Vue for three nights, and four days of awesome fishing. Sunday went well with five fish in my boat, one in another. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were completely hot though.

My boat saw 30 walleye Wednesday morning alone! Approximate count (for my boat) for the trip was 60. One was caught in front of Bayview, everything else was around the deep hole just north of Huff's to the marker (Green Point?). A significant number were caught in 39 - 41 FOW using bottom bouncer, yellow, yellow/white or silver spinners and worms. Speed bang on 1.5mph. Used boards but running a line down the chute was just as productive.

Tuesday was mostly all eater size but we picked up a few notables in shallower water (20 ft). Biggest was 10 lbs, next was 6. All the rest were between 1.5 - 4 lbs. We finished Wednesday morning with a successful triple header! Fished a couple of hours on Wednesday afternoon for our keepers and reluctantly went home. My wife was very impressed that I came home with fish this time.

If anyone was around I was the Alumacraft I/O; had two of us on board Sunday and Monday, and three on board Tuesday, Wednesday.

Great report and glad you had a good time fishing.

Browns in Athol Bay - still a little early. There are a FEW around but still slow. Mixed wind direction isn't let the water get warmed enough.

Lol my wife hates it when i come home with fish. I dont eat them and give them to friends. I throw them in the freezer whole and it freaks her out to open the freezer to see some eye balls starring back at her. Congrats on the great fishing and thanks for sharing.

Gosh, you found active and hungry fish, what a way to kick off your season.

Way to go.

WOW- nice results!

For the 30 walleye on Wednesday morning, would you mind sharing how many were caught between 6:30am and 8:30am vs caught between 8:30am and noon?

Brian.

We were checking out of Perfect Vue in the early morning so we didn't get out until around 9:00 and quit at 11:00. The afternoon was slower; we fished 12:00 - 2:00 and *only* caught 9 or 10.

Previous days we started just before 8:00 but the bite was pretty much right away. winds were from the north so we started in 24 ft, trolled through the ~40 and went to work. Later in the day seemed to be slower.
I have never experienced action like that before. Some of our neighbors (at PV) were in the same area but having limited or no luck... at the same time they were watching us running from gunwale to gunwale with the net 8O
