Going up to quinte this long weekend to fish it my first time during this time of year. I have a few questions. do the walleye actually enter the river to spawn or do they spawn at the mouth? I will probably start off by fishing out of Trent. Is there a launch nearby? should the walleye be moving into deeper water or should I focus on finding them near weeds in the shallows. Any info helps!

There are launches on the east side by the arena and up the river a bit by the cop shop. The fish run up to the shallow fast water at the #1 dam to spawn. The boats seem to be drifting from the train bridge down to the upper launch, not sure how many they are actually catching but I heard only a few. I plan on giving it a go Saturday morning.

It's the old story of should have been there last week when the water was high. The river has since gone down, along with the walleye fishing and the white bass have moved in. I'm sure there are still some hanging around up in the river but we're into post-spawn now. I plan on fishing for them out in the bay more.

I haven't fish the bay either in the spring. I'm heading to Hay Bay on Tuesday since the forecast is for light winds and I only have a 14' aluminum. Any word on the fishing on Hay Bay, and what baits/techniques you would recommend?
