I made it out on Wed for a few hours to see if I could track down the some fish. I haven't spent a lot of time on the water this year so i wasn't certain where the fish would be. I usually stick pretty close to Belleville this time of year as I usually don't have a need to head any farther. The usual spots that I rely on, had no weed, so it was a stop and go for the most part. Although I was pulling up a bit of fresh cabbage, you couldn't see it in the water, so a few more weeks and the weeds should be in. I managed 2 nice females at Rush bar within 15 minutes of getting there in 17' + , then nothing for the next 1/2 hour. I motored over to OX point seeing that the water warms in the north side first, I figured there may be a few fish in the shallows. I picked up a small one and a 4 lb female which had all the growths on it. Looked like a lake fish to me, you don't usually see the growths on resident fish.
I headed out to some of the shoals in big bay and focused on the drop offs, didn't get anything or even mark anything. stopped at pointe Anne as well, nothing on even on the sonar there either.
Rain started to come in so i made a beeline for the bay bridge where i picked up a bunch last week. I managed 3 more 1 lbers and 2 HUGE sheeps.
Everything on Jigs (tubes) and casting, not a thing trolling yet. Looks like fish are just cruising around, no patterns yet.
The Bay Bridge has coughed up quite a few this year for me. All fish released...
good luck !
