Arr'd at Hay Bay on Friday and got the boat into the water ASAP.... The winds were down and we had a call that the fish were biting near BayBoy's place. We headed out to have a troll, fished for a couple hours trying different depths but wasn't able to raise a fish.

Water temp was 64 degs F.

Saturday AM, my Dad and I headed for Ram Is and fished a spot we've had luck in the past. Began the troll and after going thru 8.5' of weeds, I was able to say "Fish ON!!!" Bert slipped the net under a nice 16.5 incher - first of the year........

We fished for about four hours, back and forth and the result was a count of 8 walleyes and one LM Bass. Fish for the table.

After we landed and I cleaned the fish, it started to rain and within a half hour, we had a torrent of water and the loudest raindrops on the roof - OH wait that's HAIL and not of the Hail Mary variety!!!!!!!!! There were two storm cells that rolled thru and we had a lot of hail on the ground.

What a storm!!!!!

Sunday was bright and we all hit the water again and tried the deeper water, we were trolling various depths and suddenly I had a strike with 125' of line out. My wife slipped the net cleanly and we had a really nice 23 incher, scaled at 3.9lbs.

Trolled over by the Church and there were 7 - 8 boats there and we went really close to shore in 8 feet of water and my rod bent back, a good fish - sorta of!!!!!!!!!!!! Pat netted the 27" pike and I slipped it back into the water. Trolled past the church with nothing to show. Went back to Saturday's spot and one the first pass, we had a double header, my wife landed her first of the year and I landed mine. Results of the morning was 6 walleye, one pike and another LM Bass.

Cleaned the fish and then cooked them for lunch - very tasty.

We had a good weekend and hope to do well next time out.

Stay Tuned
