Quinte Fishing

Good shootin' out there and thanks for the report. Man, gotta say it's been great to have the lake trout fishing this spring to compensate for a slow start to the salmon season. We will catch more of them in future whether we like it or not as they are a priority in the Lake O native species restoration plans. Love 'em or hate 'em, they're here to stay. I expect these fish will start to take more of a dent out of the huge baitfish population as they grow, which does get me thinking. Should we continue to put the same amount of Lake Trout into Lake O each year, understanding their very long life in the swim. This might explain their increasing appearance in our landing nets. Certainly something for Fisheries Managers to think about. Expect some of these fish to start topping 40 lbers in the next five years. They've been inching up to that size for the last few years now.
