Has anyone been to the new Cabelas in Barrie and have any comments on the store?

I was there last week. It is the same as their stores out west. It is ok. Not real big and no comparison to some of the stores in the US. I bought a couple hoodies that were on sale.

there was a long thread on the other board about the store.

i'd say, without counting, 95% were unimpressed.

you'll have to check it out for yourself though. don't hold your breath for great savings or selection.

one thing that was almost unanimous was the hunting section was top notch.

Nothing like their big US stores. I will continue to order online and have my gear shipped to the in-laws in the US. Pretty disappointing actually.

Went for my first visit last Monday. I was disappointed at the lure selection and amazed at the empty display hooks. 2 out of 3 sizes of the most popular lures were sold out and they did not seem to care when they would be restocked. Storm 3' square bill, none 5'- 1 (now mine) lots of 7'. Similar disappointment elsewhere. It is nothing like the catalogue.
