Went out tonight in the Trent in search of Cats. I have caught a few running cranks but never tried targeting them especially out of a kayak. I only hooked up with a small one tonight but wow what a fight in a kayak. I cant wait to get out and do it again. I was using a extra heavy flipping stick but from now im gonna use my light musky gear. As far as bait some good ol chicken liver.

I find some people quick to judge kayak fishing till they give it a shot. I've had my most fun out of kayak fishing over the last 5+ years. A great way of sneaking up on the fish. Nice and quiet with no motor

Great way to catch a cat Dave.

I fish out of my canoe more than my other boats for the same reasons. You can get places others can't and it's a laugh when the fish pull you around. Last night I was fly fishing catching bass and gar pike on the Trent River from my canoe. It was pretty cool floating around out there with the sunset to the right and a thunderstorm to the left. It started to rain around 8:30 but I was having too much fun to care.

I would think fly fishing from a kayak would be a blast as well.

One of these are great for trolling with a kayak: it's the extension arm for the Scotty holders. Makes it easy to grab and reach your rod easy
