The weather was good enough for us to consider a trip to Hay Bay with our grandson, William. He had spent three days with us and was itching to go fishing.

We got out at 1100 and headed for the Church, where we had success the previous week.

Began our trolling pattern and after 45 minutes, Williams Grandmother hooks a fish and it's a beauty, slowly she reeled the fish to the net and I slipped the net under a 27" pike. Nice fish and a quick release.

Trolling back west, William cries "Fish ON!!!" and his rod is bent double. Whoa - that's quite a pull. He reeled the line and kept his rod tip up and I was able to slide the net under a really nice 21" walleye. Pulled the scale out and it was 3lbs 11oz - a new Personal Best for William. He is a Happy-Happy-Happy fisher.

We continued for a while and I hooked and landed a 17incher, which was added to the live well for the table.

We pulled our lines at 1245, an hour and three quarters, landed three fish and lost another one. Over the one fish per hour mark.

Back to Kingston and emailed the pix to all concerned - everyone was happy for Williams PB.

Stay Tuned.
