Quinte Fishing

Howdy folks,
Going to be fishing the Bay for the first time next June ( 2015 ) first week. Staying at Sunset Farms and Cabins.
Fished Canada several times in June at Kenora. ( Lake of the woods ) Always done well with crawlers and cranks for the walleye. Looking for some advice on patterns depths for June fishing at the Bay. Two serious fisherman who truly appreciate the opportunity and the tradition of fishing the Bay of Quintie. Always practice catch and release other than a meal or two while at camp. Any local knowledge you might be willing to share would be greatly appreciated and not abused.

Welcome to the board.

Fishing in June is always a good time, depending on the water temp and weed growth, spinners & worms are always a go-to rig. The weed edges are a key factor.

There are always fish in the deeper water, but fewer anglers target them, they can be taken with cranks, remembering to watch for optimum temps for walleye and not to fish below them.

The board has been quiet as of late, but there was chatter in May & June that you could search for previous posts to get an idea as what went on this year and in the past.

Watch the board next year before you travel up and see what's happening.

Hey Steve, you will be staying not to far away from where I do. Look for a lure call an Erie Dearie. Tip with a worm, troll about 1.8 mph. Or a floating worm harness with a bottom bouncer.

Look for the other boats. By the way, usually a OPP on the water out there as well.
