Hi,
Rented a cottage for three days on Hay Bay. Looks like big winds. 30 km. Anyone ever fished Napanee River to get out of the winds?

Thanks.

Napanee River with a 30k wind from the west will be pretty rough at the bottom end. (Deseronto area) If you go further up towards Napanee, you should be able to find some shelter. Not sure about walleye in the river this time of year, but you should be able to get into some bass and pike.

Depends on the wind direction. You might be alright.

There is almost always somewhere to hide as long as you can trailer to different launches. Check the wind direction and then look at a map to find the sheltered areas.

You beat me to it Big Mac...was just typing the same thing... The forecast right now says west wind I believe. If it stays that way, Hay Bay around Ram Island might be alright.

Good Luck!!

Depends on what side of the bay your staying on, north or south, if north try launching at Shermans and fish "long reach" on the west shore or even down to the cement plant, if your on the south shore hay bay, launch at church and fish back of Ram island, or if it's a sw wind you can take the ferry over and launch at Mcfarlins. Check here for maps of the bay and you'll get a good idea of where to go.

Thanks for these, greatly appreciated. I'm south shore, near pickeral park. I can trailer. South winds Monday, west Tuesday. I'm hoping it settles down by then. I'd be willing to launch in Napanee for bass and pike.

Thanks again for this,

Figures eh the weekend I decide to stay home and do things around the house its beautiful with no wind all weekend. I am suppose to be going up this weekend but thinking twice about it now with the 40-50+ km/h wind gusts they are calling for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Mother nature sucks lol
