Hello, I'm thinking of heading down to quinte this weekend to try the walleye scene for the first time. Hay Bay? Long Reach? Narrows? any advice on how we can make it a successful day would be much appreciated!

First check the winds, there going to be close to 30 km and rain as well, not fun if your caught out in it. Other than that start trolling hard baits, we did ok on the weekend.

Thanks for the heads up on the weather, Sunday looks like it may be a bit better. Hard baits....15ft divers?

Reef runners , TD11's and Live target, 15-20 ft is good, we put ours about 60 -90 feet behind the boards, weeds were not an issue as they have been in the past few weeks. In our case the bite was between 10 and 10:30, we landed 3 nice ones between 21 and 25 inches.

Depends on where your coming from and the size of your boat, here is a list off the board of the ramps in the area.

Launch at Deseronto and you can be in the Narrows or Long Reach quick and you might get some protection from the wind.
