I think it a great idea -but Muskie fisherman go by the length (scale on the deck) and girth (cloth tape). Maybe the MNR can calibrate walleye data to a chart like we have for muskies. Then only weight it if you think it is your BOL. Too many fish are damaged by hanging (literally). Our fishery should be catch and release for all large walleye!!

I agree with the previous comments, a couple of years ago I started to fish with some of the american tournament anglers and during pre fishing they go by inches not actuall weights. One of them gave me a chart with lengths and approx weights which I have been using. I don, t really need to know the exact weight of the fish I catch. I would be happy to share this chart with anyone somehow. I took it into Trimline in Kingston and they scanned it and made a "decal" which I stuck to my livewell lid and it works great.
