Question from a new guy to the area: Does nobody around the Quite/Kingston area sell (or use) frozen or frozen/salted minnows for fishing walleye, pike and bass? Is it legal to use, sell or transport?

We used to use frozen minnows years ago in Quebec because live minnows were not allowed at the time. They tend to fall apart fairly easy though. If you hook them through the head on a jighead, it's not too bad. When ice fishing, I usually freeze my leftover minnows in salt, then use them next time out.

I always freeze my left over minnows. Salt them with pickling salt and leave them on paper towel in the fridge. Once they dry a bit put them in a small glass jar and there ya go. They work good for jigging spoons and stuff like that.

Legal to make your own, transport and use,but they must be part of your 120 minnow count.
