Planning a trip out this coming weekend. With the latest cold spell is the water still open? I imagine there will be ice near shore but want to know where we could launch.
Any update from locals will be very much appreciated.

There calling for a warm up next week might make for a better trip, this weekend is lookin nasty. I'm waiting it out till the bitter end the colder the water the better. Been down once this Nov there still to deep we still got a few but no pigmonkeys. Not enough bait balls. Good luck out there if you get out.

Heading up tomorrow as well from Burlington, staying in Shannonville.

Superdad, question for you. With southwest winds would the south shore of the reach from Deseronto be fishable?

I don't know if I want to launch from Picton.

Any thoughts or info would be appreciated.

Regards

Long reach gets ugly in most south wind conditions. It rolls across picton bay and builds all the way down. You could find some lee on the west side but it'll still be rollin. Id go to picton.

I have to say that the weather last Saturday was great. Launched near the ferry and the water at times was like glass. Unfortunately for us we did not boat any fish.
Had to drop the boat of Sunday for some work so was not able to go out.
So now waiting for ice.

Tightlines everyone.
