Hey fellas,

I have been thinking for the past couple days whether or not to write something regarding the speeds some of the boats are travelling leaving and returning into Picton Harbour. I'm not saying anyone on this board is responsible for creating unacceptable wakes, I'm hoping however some may see this and help self govern rather than having OPP get involved. The thing is we all have alot of money tied up into our vessels and gear and unnecessary damage is frustrating. I am positive the guys that are coming/leaving, a little hot on their way to the launch are completely unaware of what they are causing and I pray it is not intentional.

What made me finally decide to say something was this past weekend while rigging up at the dock preparing for the day, I watched a beautiful 19-20ft Lund go hammer down from the Launch straight out of the harbour sending a nice 18 inch wake into the marina, sending the boats tied up for a ride.

To that group of Fisherman,

Please try to be considerate of others and slow down leaving the harbour, its not necessarily the speed its the wake.

Thanks guys good luck and be safe out there.

Agreed, have seen many people disregard the speed limit in the harbour.

Unfortunately common sense isn't so common!

Hopefully people slow down and respect the moored boats.

I was not aware of the no wake zone.
In some of the kawartha lakes they have these little round white 10km/h signs anchored in the channels.
How far out is it? Does it start /end at the point?
I idled out in the darkness in the morning but I may have come in a little "hot" at dusk.
Sorry if I offended.

No wake zone starts at entrance to the harbor on the rock point. There is a sign posted on the point.
