i own a 18ft alaskan with a 76inch beam and a fifty hp .i fish erie regularly but i would not go anywhere near it in this wind. in a NW wind is the picton area fishable and if not where should i launch from.

It can come in there pretty bad......it does not seem to matter sometimes the direction......it just funnels around there. At 40km with higher gusts......you might not be able to pull it off.......bring lotsa beer!!!

I just had a quick peek at the weather for Picton and they are calling for west wind in the 35-40 range. Usually one can tuck up along the high bluff side and get out of the weather. If not bring the crappie tubes and hit the docks in Picton Harbour

I am also venturing up this weekend. Hoping it has been like each day this week. Today, high winds all day and now at 5pm all is calm.
Hoping to get in the water for a few hours at least.

Where can I get a decent map of the waters on my way up on Saturday,?
coming up from Mississauga to Picton.
Never know when you might need a safe haven.

It's looking pretty decent for early next week. I'd like to get down for a day Monday or Tuesday! Here's hoping :!:
