Decided to take my Dad out for a road trip to the camp at Hay Bay, joined by my son who dropped down from Toronto for the afternoon.

The east end of Hay Bay (the flats) were iced across and the area near McCabe Bay was also iced across. As we neared Bayview on Hay Bay, the water was wide open, with lots of ducks and geese.

We spent some time at the camp and thought about the goods times in the past fishing.

Headed down towards Shermans Launch and found one trailer there and the chap had just put his boat and was firing up the engine, when I asked where he was going, Thompsons to do some jigging. A great day to give it a try. Shermans Launch is ready to go, watch out the docks out and the water is low. Take care with the end of the cement pad.

Drove down to Huffs Launch, saw a truck with a trailer and spied the boat out in the middle, drifting in the NW winds.

The water in Middle Hay Bay, Western Hay Bay and Long Reach was wide open and looked very inviting........

Hope this finds some fishers who want to give another try. We hope we can give it one more try.

Stay Tuned.

And here I am, heading down sunday for a couple days. Got to close the place down for the winter, now I am thinking of dragging the boat down to try for some mallards in the morning and eyes in the afternoon. My plan was so simple before reading this post.

Thanks DAD!!!! LOL
