Going fishing tomorrow launch in Picton having a friend with me so I can troll 4 boards if East of ferry.

I have only used 2 boards with good success but never 4 at once.
If a fish is on the outside board do I have to wind in the inside one as well?

If you run deeper or shallower baits what is best on which boards. Like is it best to have shallower baits on the outside?
Do I have to wind in inside board to change lure on outside board?

Just wondering on your thoughts
Thanks Rob

Hey Rob,

Generally as you get further away from the boat, the higher and further back the lure is.
As demonstrated in this picture that I found off google.

So if a fish hits the outside board, it would be above the inside board and as it fights, your boat is in a forward motion. This motion in theory should bring the fish more directly behind the boat and shouldn't cross lines.. most of the time.

Are you talking about in-line boards or boards off a mast?

I was talking about inline boards.

Two trips by myself I caught 2 3lbers first trip and 7 walleye second trip 5, 7,9,and 11 lbers and 3 small eaters.
My friend said he wanted to come along.
So this morning (Monday) we drove up in -8 degree temp.
We go to Picton launch froze solid.
Plan B we launched at ferry.

Trolled west of ferry and towards bat cave and got skunked! One hit early on then nothing all day.
Strong SE wind didn't help
Here I was thinking with 4 boards we should do Ok.
inside board outside board does not matter if no fish!
maybe one more time this weekend
Thanks Rob
