Hey guys,
I'm going to assume that none of you remember or have seen my only other thread on this forum. I just started fishing Quinte last season on the ice in mid to late December. I struggled to break the 10lb mark during those three outings, with two fish around 9.85lb being my bests.
I have never fished the bay during softwater and it all came together a few weekends ago when a friend and I decided to head out after hearing a friend did well trolling the day before. I was pretty excited as I knew the chances of me breaking 10lbs were good
We started off early in the morning and packed the boat. After a pitstop or two along the way, we finally made it to the launch and began the day trolling. We boated a decent number of fish including a new best of 14lb7oz giant! The other big fish of the day was also a fantastic specimen at 12lb10oz.
Mid way through the day, the wind picked up and we decided to find sheltered water to comfortably jig for the rest of the outing. We continued to jig up a couple more fish before last light when he headed back to the launch.
Check out this video that my friend put together that sums up our day (lots of talking in the beginning, but the action comes after!)

What a fantastic fishery we have here!
Please note that when we returned to the launch, we were greeted by a MNR conservation officer who thoroughly checked us and all other boats returning from the water. Great to see him out there. Saw a few tickets handed out too!
Can't wait for the hardwater!
Tight lines!
