Hey guys, I need to replace a lot of my trebles probably go with a size 2 or 3, and I was wondering what you all thought is the strongest brand??

I really liked the Excalibur rotating treble hooks but they seem to be hard to find (locally)

Mustad Triple Grip, short shank - they grab and don't let go.

Superdad is correct.

Once a triple grip hook's, it doesn't let go (even when your trying to get the hook out, lol).

buy the bronze version, not the black nickel version - and DON"T buy the overpriced, lower quality, and not even triple grip, KVD Elite TG's (they are garbage).

I've had them bend slightly but nothing major. Imo if your straightening good hooks your drag is too tight.

culp, not with walleye.

but i'd never ever consider triple grips for any species that actually pull back, lol.

I have had the stock reef runner hooks start to straighten on walleye....but those are absolute garbage hooks...

so I can confirm the triple grip hooks are stronger than stock reef runner hooks.

they are also lighter hooks, so you can get away with up sizing them if the lure will allow....

finally, the best ones, the bronze ones, DO RUST! they are uncoated, and will rust if you look at them the wrong way....

just accept it, and prepare to change them up each season (which will likely be required).

I'm a HUGE VMC Spark Point fan. Use them on the boat and under my ice jigs.

Thanks man I think my drag is good, when I hook into a steelie it goes zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, trouble is the things are so powerful and big they like to straighten the stock hook before my 8 or 6 lb leader breaks, that doesn't seem right.
