I was out over the bay bridge today and noticed a couple of people off potters. It looked like they were 1/4 to 1/2 way out to the buoy. The East side of the bay bridge is wide open, curious how much ice is off Potters ? might be a bit risky yet...

There's been people fishing but you will never get them to talk about it on this board too much this early in the season....

Check potters this am with a few buddies seen a guy out half way I made it out 200 yards on 3 inches then took 5 more steps and was through with on hit I new it was Tim to turn around and head to Glenn Ross. The crazy thing is when I was walking out on buddies trail at potters he didn't even check ice by the look of it hes a nut no fish is worth swimming for.

The guys a nut eh! Hmmm. I'm pretty sure u were standing with your 2 buddies side by each checking the ice! If you don't know what your doing stay off it. If your standing on 3" of ice why would you ever stand right beside one another?? Not to mention bring your hut and everything else!!

We know what we are doing we would never stand side my side only I would walk well in front of them with the spud checking every step I take I would never risk mine or my buddies lives.

It's too bad actually that a guy (fish tales) comes on here and gives an "actual report" on what he did and what he saw, and other guys have to turn his story around and criticize for no reason. Nowhere did he say that he was standing side by side with his buddies on 3" of ice, or that they had all their huts and gear with them, then another guy interprets it at being 2" of ice.
I posted a "fishing report" back in early November, and had similar reactions from some people.
Makes it hard for people to post a "report" when all they get is criticism!!!

Well I was going to just keep quiet because I did not want to give a ice update because conditions were were not the best. But since walleye9 wants to keep the ball rolling oin this topic I will explain!
I was the apparent "nut" sitting on 3" of ice. We had been checking the ice regularly that week leading up to the weekend. I seen 3 guys walk out side by side checking the ice. 1 guy was right off my track making his own path then they gathered together and setup in 6' o water! They were not there long then they left. They had a red hut. That might not have been fish tales but there were 3 of them standing side by each.

I also PM'd BIFF and gave him the report he was looking for. Overkill your bang on bud!! Here we go again!

Ya, not sure I'm liking being called an "idiot" either. Me and my crew have iced and released 10 walleye in the past few days. If you don't know where the ice is, stay off. If you do be care full. There IS ice in the area.... Two of us where on quads last night heading to our 6" of ice and brought our huts...

Be safe and now your ice. :)

PS.. I don't fish Potter's so I can not give an update on ice conditions there.
