Arrived at Glenorra ferry ramp at 0530 to find the ice more than several inches thick for the first 50 feet, headed to Finkles at Bath and open water. Spent the day on calm water for a change. It was different watching the planer boards work without waves and wind making detection difficult. Hooked into something near the gap (reef runner grey ghost) which fought a lot harder than a Walleye but lost it before getting a look. Got 1 more near the bat cave on the same lure. We went down to Keiths shoal next and found a lot of ice floes, making it a little hard to use the boards but worth while. Hooked 3 more, once again on reef runners, all were 200 ft behind the board. Kept 2 smaller ones and released the others for next year. Suspect we will be putting the boat away soon as the Bay is .3 degrees in the best spots.... but you never know...
