Anyone buy one of the quinte series rods lately? Bought one and notice it bounces around like crazy when trying to reel. Not sure if it's the setup of the eyes or what. As it is I had to switch back to my old setup as I lost a few fish because I couldn't keep the line tight

is your reel to big? I had found in the past if reel spool was a wide style it had issues for first eye.maybe downsize reel and see if improvement

I know exactly what you mean. I bought a local rod last year (24") with lots of backbone and noticed that it bounced for every rotation when reeling. The only way I could avoid this was to bypass the first (largest) guide. Not ideal but it seems to work better.
