Met up with Fishforfun and Greymist today for a trip to Quinte.
Met in Oshawa about 5am and they followed me down to the Glenora Ferry (only 2 seats in my pickup and no one offered to ride in the boat).
When we realized the Picton side of the ferry was launchless we decided to head over on the ferry and launch there.

With the steel grate on the launch ramp being covered with an invisible film of ice my truck, boat motors and trailer slid helplessly down the grade.
Luckily the tires finally grabbed as the trailer hit the water and the tires of my truck hit the concrete portion of the ramp. Got the boat off and spun the tires(2WD) most of the way back up the ramp. After recovering my breath and changing my underwear it was time to fish.

Got set up sometime between 7:30 and 8am. 2 downriggers, 1 inline planer board and a flatline. Greymist takes the helm and tries to keep the boat straight driving into the waves(did very well too I might add).

No action until approx. 11am when I say "Hey, does that planer board look like it is acting funny?". Sure enough it was a 29 inch walleye.........sorry no pic for this one.
Feeling guilty for jumping on the rod without offering it to my guests I assure them that it is their turn for the next round of action. After 3 more hours of building up with guilt (and my constant wondering of the planer board acting funny again) we decide to pack it in at the previously agreed upon 2pm.
Greymist continues to keep the boat straight while FFF and myself reluctantly pull up the downriggers. Low and behold the planer really was acting funny this time so I relieve Greymist of her helmsperson duties as she reels in her walleye like a true pro.(except she was in her sock feet with a windchill of minus 3 ) Its a good thing the fish hit or I think she would have set her socks on fire to warm her feet up. This one measured 30inches and had a gut comparable to the size of mine. Got a pic of this one.

Even though there was only 2 fish it was a good day. FFF educated me with some Salmon info and not one complaint from Greymist all day(and I know she was cold). As well it was nice to not have to worry about driving the boat for a change. Thanks Greymist. Great people to fish with. . . You guys are welcome in my boat anytime.
