Just wondered how much snow is on the ice. I was heading down this weekend and was going to bring the sled. I am not a fan of using the sled on glare ice. Just wondered.

Thanks

Hi toddyfish. Last time I was out, there was about a two inch layer of snow with patches of clear ice. Going out again today. 10-15 cm of snow is expected for the Kingston region tomorrow according to TWN.

west end of the bay is mostly ice with patches of hard packed snow. East end got a dumping of snow earlier so more areas of hard packed snow. That said the forecast is calling for 10 cm of snow this thursady.

10cm of snow tomorrow but also 30-40k winds friday. It will be nasty out on Friday and prolly not much of that snow left on the ice.

Been out for the last few week-ends with the sleds on the ice.....NOT even close to enough snow to run them. Even if we get the snow, it most likely won't stick to the ice with the temps in the forecast.

Personally, I'm switching to ATV's this week-end...may still slide around but at least the sleds won't be overheating.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!
