Quinte Fishing

Yesterday we went off of peats point and headed east . I lost three and missed a half dz (I should have used a stinger )The first one I lost was on a red macho minnow. I had his head just at the surface of the water and the lure popped out , I get him half out of the water and fumble ( the lighting in my hut was part of the problem as it was dark and I couldn't see the best ) . I grabbed a hold of the tail on the way back down the hole but couldn't keep my grip . The other two were hits on my darter , that I wasn't ready for and didn't get good hook sets on . That was my error completely , because I didn't have my drag set right on that rod ( I have never had a hit on the darter before , even though I use it every time out ).
My buddy landed 3 , biggest around 6pnds. We both marked quite a few fish , with some big ones coming in for a sniff but that was it. The slush and drifts were brutal, even the razor with tracks got stuck once.

It was a great day out, and can't wait to get back on it next year.
