The launch on Beach St. at Wellington is almost open.
A couple guys with shovels and a ice scraper could have it open in a half hour.

Soon
a few icebergs floating around in the Lake.

It's official, the first boat went out of Wellington this morning. The season has begun.

Yep was out today. More of a boat shake down but did do some trolling. Stayed around the harbour as there are no other boats ready to help if I had any problems. Warmest water around that area was 34 degrees. Lots of floating ice around. To top it off no fish.

Thanks for sharing the news about the open season on the Big Lakes,

We're trying to get a day with the right winds and nothing on our schedules.

Gosh, it's tough not working, we have so little time to get the things we want done to be able to get out fishing.

Stay Tuned

Poor guy, it must be tough...

I'll tell you what, you can go to work for me so you have more time. I'll tough it out for you and try to go fishing more. But I'll only do this because I'm such a nice guy. :D

David - I'm having exactly the same problems - retirement seems to eat up all one's time - LOL. My boat is scheduled to come out of storage on the 9th, and if weather gods & schedule co-operate, will try to make a "brownie" trip before end of month.

Ya I was there on Wednesday to check it out , the channel looked scary shallow . And the icebergs that were floating around weren't to inviting .. Lol. Lots of ice on the beach the stretched 10-20 feet into the water . Hopefully soon it will warm up a bit , im dieing to get the boat out for a troll ..

As a side note to other launches, Wicklow is still froze up.
