Quinte Fishing

Well I believe that I am finally done for the ice this year, notice I said think.
Batteries charge, augers oiled, spud oiled, lures and boxes getting dried out and put away.
Had a not bad year on the ice with some of both good and bad days correction good and better days with some skunk in between.

What to do next? Pull out the fly gear or start this new to me form of cast and retrieve called float fishing. I know a lot of people that will say float since it is I believe to be more popular at this time of year however I know that float fishing requires a bit of a touch for casting and with a 13 foot rod I feel that my shoreline nieghbours can get uppity. Get a day of two in on a small pond or stretch of vacant water so that I can maybe not master but get a decent grip on how to handle this form. Oh well have until next weekend to decide.

My day started out great, I woke.

I tried out a 13' float rod and is there ever a learning curve, lol. I was good at letting it float, but not so good at getting a good hook set . It was a lot of fun, but I won't be buying one yet.
