Hi guys and gals,

Just at this point looking at what the flavour would be for a similar Tourny to bass champs Tourny but for walleye's on opener out of the bay of Quinte with a weigh in location to be determined at a later time.
It's most likely way to late to do this this year but our bass club runs the bass champs Tourny and in my opinion it's a great time with a real good payout able to won by anyone. Big boat or small.
I have spoke to a few of the boys and will most likely run it next yr on opener and would think payout would be something like this based on 50 boats and $150 per boat.

$500 per hour for biggest,
$250 per hour for second biggest,
$150 per hour for third biggest,

All this would be based on 50 boats and $150 per boat. No matter if u had 2 or 4 anglers,
Any and all input at this point is good.
Again this is going to happen next yr for sure but would like to let everyone know it's happening next yr and there will likely be no rules discouraging anyone from fishing both tournys?? At this point.

I am just honestly getting tired of WW and looking at starting something new even though I really enjoy fishing for eyes myself!

Paul

Don't think there is the support, guys come from accross ontario for the bass event.
qfs gets like 30 boats, and a portion of the field fishes it as its a points event for the series. plus the local walleye guides.

laugh if you want, but this is just a idea.
What about a week day or eveninng wall bass event, from june to sept, may to june could be walleye only. small entry fee $20.
4 walleye(no overs) or 4 bass, or a mix of both. we need more tournaments, maybe i am just jealous of my texas friends that do over 80-100 tournaments a year. i get are season is so limited, but i average 10 a year, that just not enough...

I think it's great Paul. Id be in for sure. Id rather see a skill derby than a lottery like ww. As far as support, if marketed properly I see no prob getting a good turnout. Thousands come to Quinte for ww so why not.

Thanks Big Mac,

I really believe if ran the right way I think we will have zero problem with getting at least 50 teams!
You are exactly right about the thousand of anglers who flock to arguably the best walleye fishing in North America.
I think with having the Quinte bass anglers running 3 bass tournys with I think in around 170+ teams for a couple of years there is definitely experience gained and a good name made with the fairness and sportsmanship showed towards all.
I know personally I have had a blast fishing the last 2 with a chance every hour of making a few bucks.
Anyhow it's a long ways off and all I am trying to do is get the word out that come this time next yr the Quinte area can expect a new walleye Tourny in town with I'm sure support from the community and the business community as well.

Paul

I think you would have no problem getting enough boats into the derby I know three already but should only be 2 anglers per boat children under 15 would be covered in the price so they can fish also and have fun and possibly limit it to 2 fish entered per hour per boat don't give away prize for biggest fish just increase payouts even put in fourth payout. Just make sure tickets are available everywhere so it makes it easier for people to get them without price increase after certain time

Hope it's a live release. Another tournament may put pressure on our fishery.

Oh YA for sure no question about it,it would be live release 100%. The rules will be along the very same line as bass champs with live release!
If it doesn't swim away it doesn't go on the board period no questions asked!
