Navionics updates cards can now be activated with cards. Meaning you can activate a Navionics updates card with cards like Garmin Bluecharts, or Lowrance insight genisis, or Lake master cards.

Here is a complete list of the cards you can use to activate an updates card.

There are some legacy Navionics Charts that are not compatible with Navionics Updates due to the type of chart or media the chart was distributed with:
- Navionics Classic Charts
- Navionics Land & Sea Charts
- Navionics Charts on NavChart format
- Navionics Charts on MicroChart format

As of March 2015, Navionics now allows certain competitors cards activate Navionics Updates cards.

- CMAP Essential on SD/mSD
**Your competitors card will not be harmed in any way, but will be recognized by Navionics going forward so that it cannot be used to activate another Navionics Updates card.
