Okay, got there on Friday at about 1:00pm, only to find that my cottage was occupied by squatters. Went the eviction route complete with paperwork, only to decide that it wasn't worth it. The guy that was in my cottage was absolutely huge and looked fast........wait a minute, that wasn't the guy, that was his boat. Anyway, had a couple of pops, had a moke, cooked up some StripLoins, Shrimp and a tater, snarfed and then went fishing. Calmer than David Suzuki in a busted pair of overalls. Nada. Gave it up and came in to cull the brown pop population at the Rainbow Room. Friday night was an alright party, met Dan the Man, did a bit of serious drinking, had a moke and a laugh, shot the breeze with Superdad, watched DeProp do his "Dances with Fire" routine. Unproductive fishing, but a good party.

Fished all day Saturday...everywhere with everything......a 6/10 for Wayne-o-Mac (which we never heard the end of). Saturday nights
part was great, Jimbo and the boys were a hoot as usual. Pete was a laugh, love the hat inscription. We gotta get Bob Suzuki there next year, maybe get him to donate some herniated pants for the prize table.

All in all, DeProp did an excellent job of keeping Wayne-o-Mac vertical for most of the weekend, unfortunately, and I must apologize Jimbo, on behalf of the entire Walleyes Only crew, for the early night fade. Frankly, I was embarassed and only hope that my tenacity and capacity for goodies redeemed them as a whole. I'm going to put them all into training for the opener, I can't be associated with Faders and Nappers.

Patio got technology. The days of standing on a picnic table waving mere photos around are gone, replaced with the hand-held ability to actually make the fish bigger and to zoom into all parts of its anatomy. It's sad how technology can take away some of the more entertaining aspects of our lives.....

Got a beef with the owners. Merland Park was not that great. I distinctly remember ordering the "Large Fish, Perfect Water, Scantily Clad Women" package on-line. All I got was the "Skunk, Get-Soaked-Coming-Back-from-Thompson's, Fat-Guy-in-Bob-Suzuki-Underwear" package. I musta hit the wrong icon when ordering.......? Seriously, great spot, great party.
As usual, missed the group photo (man, just like "High" school), missed the chili and the fish. I think that it's downright rude that everyone doesn't wait for me.

Sunday a.m. the rain, wind and jungle beat in my head prevented me from becoming vertical until about 10:00, at which point we said "screw it" and went home to the loving arms of our wives....

72 names on the board and thirty-something fish weighed in, that's better than a 50% skunk rate. Not nearly as good as last year for numbers, although the weights seemed to be a little better. I'm gonna get me a fleur-de-lis for the boat for next year, 'cause the Beckers seemed to do well.

Might be back in a couple of weeks for another kick at the cat. If not, Jimbo, Patio, Superdad, Dan.....see you boys for the May opener.

Mux,

You guys are a blast and a half. It was fun meeting you and chewing the 'walleye' fat for several hours.

Your fishing cut into the chili and fish fry, it's all a matter of priorities.

Probably C U next opening weekend - look for the Superdad Too.

Tight Lines to your buds and ,my sympathies to their wives

Cymbal and I were in with Dan. We had a great time and my biggest fish was an 8.3. Poor Poor Cymbals he stinks like he was chasing around a small black and white critter.
By the way, hats off to Jennifer, Kevin, Dan and the dads that brought their sons. Wonderful way to pass on our hertiage.

Mux,
You guys were a hoot around the fire on friday night, wish I could say the same for saturday. I was really impressed with Kevin bringing in the Picton Boys Christian Choir for their touching rendition of O Canada sang at the top of their lungs at 1:30 in the morning on friday... wait sorry that was Patio, Jimbo and the boys.
Yes, tisk tisk tisk on you guys for missing the fish fry. Had you come in for the fish fry then had a brief nap you would of been prime for saturday night. A lesson for next year.
Patio got technology. Yes its amazing how well he has mastered that digital camera. Zooooooom in on a picture he took of a paper picture from last year. The guy never caught a thing.
Although I didnt win the derby I can say the heaviest fish of the weekend came from my boat. 15.3lbs. Iceman (Leon) thought he had weeds till they started pulling back. Tooo bad it was a pike.
It was nice to meet some of the guys who werent ablt ot get a cabin but stopped by for a visit.
Hey, who was that guy who fell up the 2 steps going to bed on friday???

Hey Buddy! , you most definitely upheld the reputation of the crew single handedly. Hats off to you for a job well done. Always great to see you boys. I hope you stay at Merlands for the May opener ( screw the tent!)

I managed to record a portion of the Bob Izuki pant rant on my
digital camera. I have the file on my computer, but I have no idea how to get it onto this site. For anybody that was there (including Mr. Bowman)
it's a really good laugh. Let me know, it's a .mpg file if that helps.

My 10.7lb gives me Pickeral Palace braggin' rights till spring time. It made the trip down from PQ worthwhile. It was also nice to belt out the
english version of O'Canada for a change. Not much call for that here.
Sorry it was so late in the night fellas. I thought Jennifer had really fallen hard for Krispy Cream donoughts or something. Nobody told me she was
pregnant!! Who says Kevin can't jig anyways?

It was a great time and really nice to see everybody. Can't wait to do it again.

Jimbo:)

Jimbo,
Send it to my email as an attachment and I'll see what I can do. I brought out the camcorder on saturday night while everyone was around the fire and will be trying to upload it as well.
