I caught this in salmon river and I am not sure what it is or anything about them. got any ideas?

Looks like a creek chub... used to catch lots of them in the moira river fly fishing around belleville when i was younger. That looks like a good sized one !

Thanks for the help. Fishing in the salmon river with the ultralite had a blast catching them on lite tackle.

Yup....fallfish

I have caught them down around Lonsdale. Not sure how far upstream they are.

There is also a very pretty redfin sucker in there, that is quite colourful.

Looks like a chub to me, used to catch them down NB in brooks while fishing for brookies.

We called them shiners when I was a kid fishing the moira and the Black river north of Madoc.

Yup fallfish. There are some piggies ( > 1 lb consistently) further up the Salmon River in Tamworth area.
