Folks,

This site is such a good source of information and I am always appreciative of the feedback I have received - even when not discussing the BOQ specifically. With that being said I was wondering if any of you have ever fished the Cabonga Reservoir in Quebec. Ill be heading up there in August with my Dad for some R&R and some fishing.

Our gameplan is to get a guide for a half day to get a lay of the land, discuss bait presentation, fish tendencies, movement patterns, etc. Just wondering if anyone has spent any time on this body of water. We will be at the south end @ Bark Lake Lodge. The most popular lodge is on the North end called Deer Horn Lodge.

As always thanks in advance

My father in law has a cabin (and a float plane to get there).

I'd be glad to share my experiences, that is if he had ever invited me :(

Bitterness intentional...

Good luck on your trip!

If I had a father in law like that, he would be the last person I would intro to my son. People like that don't think karma comes their way. Only thing I would offer him is help with a long walk off a short pier. Your better off without that weighting in your future. His loss not yours.
Cheers Rob

Hi
Fished deer horn lodge a few times always in the latter part of May.
The camps were nice the owners were very friendly and lots of Walleye.
Yellow jigs tipped with bait worked the best for us. Colors were green and yellow
Jigging was always the most productive. The roads into camp were always in good shape.
I havn``t been there in a few years but the memorys are still there.
The owners will give you all the info you will need.

Jim - Thanks for the feedback. Like you said pretty standard approach for attacking northern lakes for walleye. Interested to see how the bite will be early August. In the past the windows can get pretty small.

bcjohnso99 - I feel like I should invite you along!!

Not sure how far north you guys are going, but bring winter clothes if you are headed north. We used to do a yearly trip to Lac Des Quinze around Ville Marie and sometimes would get November temps in August. Not always, but it does happen. The summers are very short up there...lol

Good Luck!!!
