After our smashing day on Lake O, we took it easy the next day. We decided that we'd just head out from Bayview on Hay Bay and with the winds, decided to head east.

Just as we passed Wagon-Wheel Point(across from Blakewoods), Dave said he had one on!

Didn't fight like a walleye or a bass, scooped the net and we had a Black Crappie, our first on Hay Bay and first in 30 years or more. Decided that we should sample the edible qualities of this one.

It was consumed for breakfast this AM and my wife has decided she would rather have a perch sandwich.

As we trolled the shallow shoreline, I had a hit and set the hook and a fish jumped, a bass..... Dave slipped the net under this one and I got out the scale. It tipped the Berkley at 3.6lb.

We continued past Hoffman Is and into the flats when the wind really kicked and we called it a day, fished from 1115 - 1320.

Both fish caught on the Uzick Spinner.

Stay Tuned

Thanks for the reports Superdad. I have not been able to get to my trailer at Snookies to many times this year and if it hasn't been for you I wouldn't know what is going on down there.

Keep up the good work and good luck.

Regards

Nice job! there is some really good crappie fishing within 45 mintues of the boq, so I never really try for them in the spring time. So tempting as I have seen some giants come out of the bay. Such a big body of water to try and target them tho.

Good post.
