Hit the bay for the second time this year and I don't see what all the talk about the walleyes dissappearing are all about. I think last year everyone including myself were just spoiled with the ferry bite.
This is my 5th year fishing the bay and every year keeps getting better and better. However I will say this: every year we find fish in different places with different lures different depths and times of the day. This year was no different.
Any that's my 2 cents worth on that subject. Now the report:
Monday did a milk run and picked up 6 on 6 different lures in 6 different places. Tues same result with 6 fish but caught 3 in one area. So Wed. went to that same area and fished it from noon till midnight and caught 19 with the largest at 13-7.
I'm not going to say where we fished but I will tell you only 2 fish came south of the ferry.
Fish hard!

Agreed! Everybody here shares Lure/Depth/Speed/Area in there reports. I think if your going to read other peoples posts then you should be generous enough to share your experiences as well.

Just my 2 cents!

Anyways, congradulations on the fish. Finding new spots is always cool. It shows you your actually learning about the game your chasing.

Congrats! :)

chance might have it...

that all fish were caught on a bs lure in the mouth, in the bay of quinte, going slow in more than 30ft of water near the middle ;)

Nice report OldPrincecraft, glad to see you finished strong. Looks like
you have upset a few folks though. Maybe you try paint by numbers
for those that can't read between the lines. Maybe digital photos with the lure in the fishy's mouth and a gps location....

Lighten up boys... the board is "beg and brag". Old Princecraft is allowed to brag and your allowed to beg. Not b-tch.

Jimbo - I haven't been fishing since the derby. It wasn't my report... I was just trying to fill in some of the missing details.
Painting by numbers? Sounds challenging....maybe I can fin a hot spots map to start.

You guys left dodge pretty quick on Sunday - I had a couple of lures for you.

I feel the need to elaborate on my post. I don't think that somebody should post the GPS coordinates of where they caught fish (Unless they wish to). I think they definitely should not feel that they are expected to.

But you can mention certain information that will help others learn the fish behavior based on conditions with out giving your "Hot Spot" away.

Example:

Wind Direction: SW
Weather Conditions: Partly Cloudy
General Area: East of SILO (Adolphus Reach)
Lure: Mann's Stretch 20
Color: Black/white
Line: 10lbs Berkly XT
Set Up: 150' back from boards and boards were 100' from boat
Trolling Speed: 1.5mph
Fish: Walleye
Wieght: 9lbs
Lenght:
Girth:
Status: Released

or

Wind Direction: SW
Weather Conditions: Partly Cloudy
General Area: East of SILO (Adolphus Reach)
Color: Black/white
Line: 10lbs Berkly XT
General Depths Fish were caught: 20-30
Set Up: 150' back from boards and boards were 100' from boat
Trolling Speeds: 1.5 - 2.3
Fish: Walleye
Wieght: 9lbs
Lenght:

Status: Released

I personally enjoy reading about what people are catching and watching the movies :) If they prefer not to share the information that's fine with me but if your going to use info from other's post it's only fair to share your info :)

If you read my original post you will find there is a lot of information in it.
First and formost there are a lot of fish in the bay itself and not in the reach. That alone just eliminated half of the bay. Second we only caught a few fish the first 2 days and changed up our presentation and location to catch them on the last day.
I don't read this board to find out how and where to catch fish. I read it to see if anyone is catching them. That makes the 3 hour drive go alot faster knowing the fish are there and biting.
I'm certainly not bragging. I just want everyone who is thinking about comming to the bay to have confidence that the fish are there and can be caught.

i'm the same way re posts, i read to find the general status of the fishing and maybe some general areas, i can usually figure out the rest after that (even if i have to keep an eye out for where certain boats are fishing to get clues when i get there). i would rather not have it totally spelled out to me, because for me i like the challenge of putting the rest of the puzzle together. i like the fishing as much as the catching esp when i get the heads up that there is catching to be had. everyone enjoys different aspects of fishing though and that's what i love about this board there is a diversity of people, interests and participation. something for everyone in some ways. like most boards, talk radio shows etc most people read or listen and dont post or call in. i dont enjoy the personal attacks though so much as i know sometimes when you type something it doesnt come across the way you intend and you dont really get to know someone as much as you think thru the posts unless and until you got to meet them and talk to them etc.

Agreed it's very difficult to translate your "tone" through an email or post.
I certainly hope my post wasn't taken as a "personal attack". It was just meant to be a suggestion.

I would be happy to just come to this board and see everybody posting pictures and general information as well :) That's one thing I'd like to see more of on this board is the pictures. I really enjoyed the movie that Jugger_nott posted that was absolutely great!

I can't believe the size of the eyes that people are catching.

As for the detailed reports I view them the same way as a article in a magazine for entertainment + a little education hopefully from a more experienced angler.

Personally when I make it out to the bay and actually catch something LOL! I'll post my detailed report because there is so many guys on this board that passed on suggestions/tips and even some test lures. I'd like to return the favor.

These tips + some additional research helped me catch my personal best the first time on the bay :)
