Well that really sucks!! Does the marina at the end of the bay have boat launching facilities? Any other launches around, the launch in Bath is about 14km from there!!!

Lake Ontario park and Portsmouth harbour.
Don't think launch at George's marina is public.

Would be nice if they replaced the pier. It's been there for 30yrs or so.

Not much they can do about parking unless they got land from the church. Half the time it's idiots that don't know how to park that cause the issues. Ie parking parallel to the fence line on the house side or parking cars in the trailer parking area.

drove by this morning as i do every day for work, seen that the end of the pier has been demolished with just the crib part of it left. Also, a large backhoe, looks like it has taken out a lot of the trees/forage along the left side (as you look from the road). this should help get a few extra feet of parking with the nose of the trucks tucked up towards the church lot. will be interesting to see it all completed.

Any plans to put in a dock right beside the launch? Would really help when launching alone so you don't have to drive the boat over to the peir, tie off while the trailer is blocking the ramp.

now THAT would be ideal! i always feel like a douche when alone and troll the boat over to the dock, tie off, come back to the truck, park, etc etc pain in the arse

would be awesome too if where the trailer parking is, they would toss in some lines for parking spaces...THAT should help people "guide" them into proper parking, instead of the beauty's that park across 5 spots! and maybe some NO PARKING lines along the right side as you drive in

I e-mailed the city twice opening week of bass season. I also sent them pictures and asked some questions surrounding liability issues as twice that week I pulled in only to find I could not turn around and the only choice I had was to back out onto Bath road. Not an easy thing to do when you are by yourself! I also asked them why a dive club from Quebec ( been there all week) was able to stay there with campers and double parked blocking boaters already on the water from backing up their trailers. I received two responses from the city assuring me that they were investigating some options and that yes they were aware of my concerns. One day as I came in I had to wait while the divers removed all their wetsuits they had drying off my trailer. That was the last straw and so started my e-mails. I hope the end results are a big improvement and that they pave it and paint some lines. I can't believe that a city like Kingston has the worst launching facilities from Trenton to Cornwall. Let's cross our fingers
