Finally something to brag about and what a great day it was! (Sept 17th) Laker John and I went fishing out on the big Lake near Timber Island. Had the first line in, was setting the second line, when the first rod went off and it was pulling drag. We were using body baits and planer boards. Live target perch was the winner. Walleye were in 27' of water. Trolled for a while longer and Laker got the second one. The same rod went off again. John had hooked in to something big, pulling hard. We guessed a sheepshead, and a big one at that. Then it is running left and right, so we were thinking Pike. Now it was getting close to the boat. Now we can see it was gold and it was a BIG Walleye. Now all we had to do was net it. Beautiful day, some wind, but manageable. Trolled mostly with the wind. Trolled for a while longer, and decided to put the downriggers out and the spoons on and try for Lake Trout. 90'. John caught one about 20lbs and me about 10lbs. We let the bigger one go. Evil eye was the delicacy of the day. Enjoyed a great day! Check out the pics. Thanks John for your hospitality and sharing your wealth of knowledge and experience. bayboy.
