Good find. Seems to me it must be genetic?

I've talked to Dr. Bruce Tufts at the Tufts Lab at Queen's and that's the popular thinking Dan. Dr. Tufts believes there could be as many as a couple with a genetic mutation born each year in the Bay of Quinte but because of the colour, they rarely make it past the initial year as they stand out like a beacon to predators. Hoping to have a submission in the next Ontario Out of Doors magazine regarding this once in a lifetime catch....

Since it's gold it's not Albino then right? Never seen anything like that.

According to the biology department at Queen's, you are correct.
A lack of blue pigment (Yellow and blue make green) leaves the just the yellow molecules in the scale cell structure.
An albino would lack both blue and yellow molecules.
