I've had issues the last few years with my water pump freezing and not being able to run my motor when the temps drop below freezing. I've tried letting the motor drain by leaving it tilted down overnight, and also tried giving it a couple quick turns of the key to get rid of leftover water but still there seems to be some water left behind.
Just wondering if anybody might have a solution to my problem.

Thanks...

have u tryed changing your water pump bc mabe its starting to were out and can not pump the water out when u have it running after its out of the water???

i start my motor for about 30 seconds after i pull it out of the water dont think it will hert it as long as u dont run it for lets say 2 min or longer. Being a duck hunter i have ran outboards in - temps lots and some time running my motor with no water coming out my motor and they never over heated. I found in my father in laws boat last year it toke about 5 min for water to start coming out after starting it on thos cold days

Depends on how you store your boat. I put a cover over my motor and put a lamp with a 60 watt light bulb under the cover. It generates enough heat to keep motor from freezing and ready to go for the next day.
